Obituary for Dianne M. Govoni (Curry)

Dianne M. Govoni (Curry)
Dianne M. (Curry) Govoni, 63, died peacefully on Monday August 19, 2019 with her loving family by her side. She was the adoring wife of Robert P. “Bob” Govoni.

Dianne was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of Dorothy “Pat” (Degnan) Curry and the late Francis W. Curry. She was educated in Worcester and was a 1974 graduate of South High School. Upon graduation, Dianne became a flight attendant for Delta Airlines, which sustained her love of travel for a few years until she decided to pursue another career. She then attended Salters Secretarial School and began to work at the Westborough Court House, as a Small Claims Division secretary.

Dianne’s life revolved around her grandchildren, whose many accomplishments became a source of pride and happiness for her. In the summer months, she loved windsailing and could often be seen at the beach on a warm, sunny day – especially in Falmouth. The water was her happy place, always a place where she felt right at home. Dianne travelled throughout the United States and began to travel internationally with her husband Bob, Aruba being one of her favorite spots. Dianne loved holidays and especially Christmas; she cherished having her family under the same roof, exchanging gifts and laughter.

In addition to her mother and her husband, Dianne is survived by her children, Matthew A. Pavini of Northborough and Elisabeth M. Walsh of Colorado; her grandchildren, Robert, Kamryn, Pierre, Andrew, Casey, Caelynn, Abigail, Madison, and Rebekah; her siblings, Michael Curry and his wife Linda of Dudley, William Curry of Chicago, IL, Margaret Grant and her husband James of Fresno, CA, Carol McRell and her late husband Robert of Port Charlotte, FL; and several nieces and nephews, along with many wonderful friends. Alongside her father, Dianne was predeceased by her sister, Kathleen Curry.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Dianne’s family between the hours of 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM on Sunday August 25, 2019 at the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury, MA 01545. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday August 26, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Saint Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA followed by internment in Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough. To honor Dianne’s memory, please consider donating to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
