John W. “Jack” Connors, Jr., 84, of Shrewsbury, died peacefully in the comfort of his home on Friday September 13, 2019, with his family by his side.

Born in South Boston and raised in Worcester, Jack was the son of John and Julia (Quinlan) Connors. He was educated in Worcester as well, graduating from St. Peter’s High School and College of the Holy Cross in 1956. Jack then went on to serve in the U.S. Marines, where he sang with the Marine Corp. Glee Club in Okinawa, Japan on the Bob Hope Show, after which he pursued a career in law. He graduated from Boston College Law School in 1961, the same year he married the love of his life, Andrée T. (Witkege). Jack was admitted to the Worcester County Bar Association in 1962.

His career began at Travelers Insurance, and after some time, moved on to form Connors and Doyle Attorneys at Law in Worcester. Later, he created Connors and Dorsey Attorneys at Law. He then opened his own private practice, which he continued to operate until 2017, with the assistance of his friend, John Dorsey, and then of his son, Thomas. Always finding time for his faith, Jack would attend noon Mass daily at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Worcester. He also frequented Saint Mary’s Church in Shrewsbury and belonged to their Men’s Choir. On weekends, Jack loved to stay active by playing tennis and golf with friends. A man of many talents and trades, Jack had his pilot’s license and frequently flew in and out of Worcester Airport; he also worked as a seasonal police officer at the Kennedy Compound in Hyannis in 1961.

In addition to his loving wife, Andrée T. (Witkege) Connors, Jack is survived by his seven children, Maria C. (Connors) Kaplan and her husband Andrew of Bowie, MD, John W. Connors, III and his wife Janey of Arlington, VA, Thomas M. Connors of Worcester, Andrew A. Connors of South Barre, MA, Peter J. Connors of Worcester, Nicholas E.
