James E. “Jim” Mullins, 80, of Auburn, died Monday August 3, 2020 after a brief illness.
Born and raised in Webster, Jim was one of three children born to the late Charles and Helen (Klisiwicz) Mullins. He attended St. Louis Grammar School and graduated from Bartlett High School. After graduation, he began his career in truck driving, prior to enlisting in the U.S. Army at 21 years old. Jim was honorably discharged after almost two years, resuming his truck driving job upon returning home.
Jim was an avid reader and could almost always be found with a book in hand. He was a history buff and loved reading about the Civil War. Jim was proud of his Irish heritage, and loved Irish music. He was a loyal Yankees fan and enjoyed playing Cribbage and Pitch.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Elaine (Collette) Mullins of Auburn, MA; his children: David Mullins and his wife Patricia of Wales, MA, Peggy Pavone and her husband Anthony of Charlton, MA; his stepchildren: Thomas Pollett and his wife Patricia of Dudley, MA, Michael Pollett of Auburn, MA, Laurie Zaleski and her husband John of Charlton, MA, and Michelle Verdolino and her husband Marc of Charlton, MA; his grandchildren: Jacob Mullins, Matthew, Daniel, and Catherine Pavone, Joshua Pollett, Renae Murphy, Anthony and Ashlee Zaleski, and Gianna and Christopher Verdolino; his great-grandchildren, Blake and Adalyn Pollett; his brother, Raymond Mullins; his former wife, Kathleen Reardon; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his brother, Charles P. Mullins.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Mr. Mullins family between 5:00 and 7:00 PM on Thursday August 6, 2020 at the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn, MA, where masks will be required upon entry and social distancing measures will be taken. A prayer service will follow at 7:00 PM. Burial with military honors will be held privately for his family.
